Meet Dr. Song
Dr. Mike Song is an accomplished double board-certified plastic surgeon in Duluth, GA. This native Georgian has been extensively trained in all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery including facial rejuvenation, body contouring, cosmetic breast lifts and augmentations as well as reconstructive breast surgery following mastectomies. As a prolific author, he has published more than 50 scholarly articles and co-authored book chapters on the abdomen and breast reconstruction. Over the years, he’s been called upon to speak at professional meetings across the country. Dr. Song’s ultimate goal is to provide superior results for all of his patients.
Specialties and Skills
Dr. Song’s breadth of knowledge covers the entire spectrum of plastic and reconstructive surgery. His specialties include cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, which often involve difficult revision cases, both cosmetic and reconstructive. Dr. Song also performs many body contouring procedures after significant weight loss such as abdominoplasties and body lifts to help restore patients’ self-confidence. In addition, Dr. Song has a special interest in facial rejuvenation with a focus on the eyelids for age reversal and rejuvenation.
Education and Training
Dr. Song graduated from Harvard University in 1995 where he received the Harvard College Scholarship and graduated with honors. He then earned his M.D. in 1999 from Emory University where he received an academic scholarship. After graduating from medical school, he completed his general surgery training at Stanford University where he served as the administrative chief resident. As part of his residency, Dr. Song spent 2 years as a postdoctoral fellow participating in full-time research in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Following this, Dr. Song attended Emory University where he completed a prestigious and comprehensive 3-year fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Special Achievements
Dr. Song is double board-certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. Throughout his career, Dr. Song has been honored and highly-regarded. Dr. Song was a Vitals’ Patients’ Choice Award winner, named one of Atlanta Magazine's Top Doctors Award and received the Compassionate Doctor Recognition. He has been a featured speaker and presenter at the national Annual Meeting of the Plastic Surgery Council and American College of Surgeons Surgical Forum. In addition, Dr. Song is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
