Overview
Latisse is a prescribed treatment used to restore the eyelashes and make them stronger, thicker, longer and darker. The surgeons of Prima Center for Plastic Surgery in Duluth suggest Latisse if you are someone who suffers from bothersome eyelash hypotrichosis and are seeking a harmless treatment option to restore your eyelashes. Patients can expect to see results in as soon as 4 weeks, with full results after 16 weeks. Because the effects of Latisse are not permanent, patients have the opportunity to continue with this treatment after their prescription is empty. To learn how Latisse can improve the growth of your eyelashes and find out cost information, contact our office to meet with our qualified surgeons and staff.
How LATISSE Works
Also known as bimatoprost, Latisse is derived from prostaglandin that helps with hair growth. When concentrated on the eyes, it promotes the eyelashes to be thicker and longer per strand. Additionally, the medication also helps in multiplying the number of hairs, making the eyelashes appear heavier, which some find appealing and sexy.
What to Expect
Latisse is easy to use, and includes step-by-step instructions. With a clean face – no makeup or contact lenses – Latisse is applied with a single-use applicator on the upper eyelid. A clean applicator allows the eyelids to adequately absorb the medication. It is not necessary to treat the lower eyelid because blinking will cause the medication on the upper eyelid to spread, which ensures the results are even. Ideally, regular daily use up to 16 weeks will render optimal results.

Dr. Philip Nakano has a genuine personality! Excellent bedside manners and cares a great deal about his patients. His facial procedures are beautiful! I trust him.
From the very first consultation to the final outcome, I felt cared for every step of the way. Thank you, Dr. Song, for your incredible work and for delivering results that honestly exceeded my expectations. Forever grateful!
Dr. Song is a world-renowned, Harvard-trained surgeon whose skill and insight stand in a league of their own. A previous tummy tuck left my abdomen excessively tight, creating constant pressure that no specialist could adequately address. I consulted with numerous specialists in both New York City and elsewhere searching for answers and relief. I sat in the offices of highly regarded Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue surgeons, yet I still felt that no one fully understood the complexity of what I was experiencing until I was lucky enough to meet Dr. Song. He expertly revised the prior work, restored proper abdominal space and function, and effectively gave me my life back. The tightness and bloating that had dominated my days for years subsided, my energy returned, and I regained the ability to live fully and comfortably.Beyond his remarkable technical ability, Dr. Song is compassionate, thoughtful, and deeply committed to his patients. His ability to recognize what others overlooked makes him truly exceptional. After consulting numerous surgeons in New York City, I can say without hesitation that Dr. Song operates on an entirely different level. He is not only one of the finest and best surgeons on the East Coast, but one of the best in the entire United States. If you are fortunate enough to be under his care, you will understand very quickly why his reputation is so extraordinary. He did not simply improve my life, he gave it back to me.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where To Purchase?
Latisse is not available in drugstores and can only be bought with a medical prescription. An evaluation is required before any doctor can prescribe the medication. A thorough exam for eye-related conditions will help evaluate if Latisse is safe to use for the patient’s circumstances.
Eyelid Stain?
It is common among patients that using Latisse can cause hyperpigmentation, which can make the eyes appear darker. It is a possible side effect but it is very rare. In the few instances that skin darkening has been reported, the condition reversed itself and the eyelids went back to their normal skin color when patients stopped using Latisse.
Iris Stain?
Another possible side effect may be brown pigmentation in the iris. This side effect is not limited to brown color and can vary patient to patient. Patients must understand this side effect before taking Latisse even though it has been minimally reported.
Little Amount of Eyelashes?
There is a medical condition called hypotridchosis when eye lashes are shorter than normal and look spare. Latisse is an ideal solution for this condition. Patients treated with Latisse report a boost in confidence with Latisse’s natural looking results.
Ideal Candidate
Latisse has been available since 2008 when the FDA approved that it is safe to use by most patients. Those who have skin or eye conditions, allergies and other problems related to eyes must not use Latisse. It is also not recommended for pregnant or nursing mothers. Generally, Latisse complications are very rare. It is normal to get irritation, dryness or redness, but all of these side effects can be easily managed. Consult with a doctor to discuss Latisse in further detail to make sure it is the best option for the desired results.
