Breast augmentation with a breast lift combines two cosmetic surgeries to allow the best possible outcome for patients. A breast augmentation with a lift is best for patients who want to alter the volume and contour of their breasts, but also need loose, sagging skin removed from the breast so the final result is full and perky. The cosmetic surgeons of Prima Center for Plastic Surgery in Duluth, GA can perform these surgeries at the same time or they can be done separately in staged surgeries to allow the patient the chance to see the impact of one surgery before deciding to have the other. A breast augmentation with a lift can be done with either saline or silicone implants, depending on the patient’s preference.
Breast Augmentation with Lift Reviews
"Dr. Nakano is an AMAZING surgeon with an incredible staff! - I've had extensive surgeries with Dr. Nakano in the past two months (breast lift & augmentation reinforced with strattice, liposuction, full tummy tuck with muscle repair) and both Dr. Nakano and his staff have been incredibly thorough, meticulous, cautious and compassionate. It was only after extensive research and interviews that I selected Dr. Nakano, specifically due to his demonstrative expertise in new and emerging surgical techniques and the beautiful work he's done on highly complex cases. I've had some slight complications due to my skin composition and activity level and they have been completely on top of ensuring that I heal and scar well, despite my complaints about the timeline and methodologies. I can always objectively appreciate someone who ignores superficial complaints in sight of the greater good; in my case, a longer healing time for a smoother wound. I would send anyone to see him - really an outstanding example of what it means to be a doctor and a surgeon. And an addendum - Lisa, his practice nurse, is also wonderful. She is sharp and highly competent with loads of experience. I probably called her a dozen times in the first two weeks and she was just as warm and helpful the first time as the 15th."- M. / Judy's Book / Jan 07, 2012
During this procedure, the surgeon will perform the breast lift first. The excess skin and tissue is trimmed away and the underlying tissues pulled tight. Before the incision is sutured, a breast implant will be placed, in most cases, under the chest muscle. Prior to surgery, multiple conversations will occur regarding the size and shape the patient desires so that there are no surprises after surgery. In cases of severe sagging, the nipple and areola may also be repositioned. A breast lift procedure does result in scarring, but an experienced surgeon makes every effort to make clean incisions and with proper scar care treatment, the scars become less noticeable over time.
Breast Lift Incision
The incision used during the breast lift portion of surgery will depend on how severe the sagging is. The most common incision pattern is one known as the “anchor” technique. This places the incision around the natural line of the areola, with an additional incision that extends vertically down the breast and along the natural crease.
To increase breast size, implants are placed within the breast to add volume. This can be achieved with either a silicone or saline breast implant. There are numerous shapes, sizes and textures to consider when choosing the right breast implant. Further information about this can be found on our breast augmentation procedure page.

What To Expect
Breast augmentation with a lift is an outpatient cosmetic procedure performed under general anesthesia. The recovery for this procedure is similar to one that occurs with an isolated breast lift, except patients tend to have additional discomfort and healing time due to the placement of implants. On average, a patient can resume normal daily activities after a full week, but strenuous exercises must still be avoided for roughly 4-6 weeks. This is to ensure that the surgical technique used for the lift is not compromised, and to avoid internal bleeding. Optimal results will usually appear within 3-6 months when the breasts have settled into their new shape and take on a natural, beautiful appearance.
Breast augmentation combined with a lift can cost between $9,000 to $12,000 depending on the extent of the surgery. Some additional considerations regarding price include the fact that if implants are used, silicone generally costs $1,000 more than saline. In addition, if the procedure is staged into separate surgeries, the cost will be increased due to having to undergo anesthesia twice, in addition to the facility, surgeon and recovery fees.
